Language Arts

Reading: Students will read both teacher-assigned texts and novels, as well as books they choose independently. Their reading performance, along with their AR points, will contribute to their overall language arts grade.

Writing: Your child will engage in extensive writing throughout the year. This year's writing assignments will include expository, persuasive, argumentative, and narrative pieces.

Grade Breakdown:

50% Tests, Projects, Essays

25% Quizzes (mainly novels)

5% AR Accelerated Reader

20% Classwork & Homework
