Welcome to Elementary Music

 

Hello music families. I am Derek Bakker, Ripon Unified's Elementary School music and choir teacher. I teach grades 2 through 4 general education music at each of the five Ripon elementary sites and my choir class is for grades 4 through 8. I enjoy promoting a love for music and providing opportunities for students' success. I am privileged to serve the Ripon community.

 

 

I enjoy spending my free time learning to play a variety of instruments. I started my musical career in the 4th grade on the viola and have been eager to learn more every day. When I am not playing or teaching music, I love to be active outside! Almost every weekend, you can find me out on a golf course in our local area, or on the trail up in the foothills.
